Waste4Soil Project at the 89th TIF-HELEXPO

On 12 September 2025, the Coordinator CERTH/ARTEMIS Laboratory organized a workshop within the framework of the 89th Thessaloniki Fair, inviting the partners of the Greek Living Laboratory of the European Waste4Soil Project. The event, entitled “Living Lab for the Waste4Soil Project”, focused on the production and application of innovative soil improvers.

The panel brought together expert scientists and professionals who shared their knowledge and experience on the key challenges related to soil health. In particular, the discussions addressed current soil issues both globally and in Greece, emphasizing the urgent need to adopt sustainable solutions. Attention was also given to the role of circular economy principles, highlighting how the recovery and reuse of resources, especially food residues, can provide valuable raw materials for soil improvers.

The workshop also highlighted the latest developments and innovations in the implementation of sustainable soil conditioners, as well as the crucial role of food waste recycling in producing soil amendments that foster agricultural sustainability and environmental protection.

This workshop offered a unique opportunity to discover modern tools and practices that contribute to improving soil quality and safeguarding the environment, while also providing a platform for exchanging ideas with leading experts in the field.
