Discover the Italian Living Lab in Emilia-Romagna – Now Available in Italian

The Waste4Soil Project is pleased to launch a new series of presentations dedicated to our Living Labs, now available in their local languages. This initiative aims to bring the project closer to local communities and stakeholders by showcasing the innovative work taking place across Europe in the languages of the regions where our Living Labs operate.

We begin with the Italian Living Lab in Emilia-Romagna, presented in Italian.

Transforming Food Processing Residues into Valuable Soil Amendments

The Italian Living Lab brings together researchers, farmers, industry representatives, and other stakeholders to develop innovative solutions for sustainable soil management. The focus of this Living Lab is the transformation of food processing residues into valuable soil amendments that can improve soil health, support circular bioeconomy solutions, and contribute to a more sustainable agricultural future.

By turning organic residues into resources, the Living Lab demonstrates how local collaboration and scientific innovation can help address some of the most pressing challenges facing European agriculture, including soil degradation and resource efficiency.

A Strong Multi-Actor Partnership

This pioneering work is made possible through the collaboration of four key partners:

  • Università degli Studi di Parma

  • Legacoop Nazionale

  • Gruppo Amadori

  • Confagricoltura

Their joint efforts highlight the importance of combining scientific knowledge, local expertise, and industry engagement to develop practical and scalable solutions for healthier soils and more sustainable food systems.
